Choosing the right type of concrete for your project
Concrete is used across almost every area of construction, but the most suitable mix depends on what is being built, how the concrete will be placed and the conditions it will need to withstand. A mix suited to a shed base may not be appropriate for a reinforced commercial slab, while a driveway exposed to weather and vehicle loads may require different performance characteristics from internal flooring.
At Easy Concrete Services, we supply a wide range of concrete types and grades across London and the South East. Based in Hayes, Middlesex, our team works with homeowners, builders, landscapers, groundworkers and commercial contractors to help match each project with the right concrete solution.
Choosing the correct option involves more than selecting a strength grade. Delivery method, workability, setting time, reinforcement, access and expected loading all need to be considered. Our team takes the time to understand how the concrete will be used before recommending the most appropriate mix, helping customers avoid unsuitable specifications, unnecessary waste and delays on site.
Whether you need readymix concrete for a planned commercial pour, volumetric concrete for changing quantities, on-site mixed concrete for greater flexibility or screed for a smooth floor finish, we provide practical advice based on the application rather than recommending the same product for every job.

Expert guidance on concrete mixes and grades
Selecting concrete based only on price or headline strength can lead to problems later in the project. The mix needs to suit the structure, method of placement and environment in which it will perform. Exposure to weather, ground moisture, vehicle traffic and structural loading can all affect the final specification.
A domestic foundation may require a general-purpose concrete selected around the ground conditions and structural design. A driveway needs to cope with repeated loads and external exposure, while a reinforced commercial floor may require a higher-strength mix with carefully controlled workability. The delivery method must also suit the way the project will be carried out.
Our team helps customers assess these factors before delivery. We consider the application, required grade, volume, access, placement method and construction programme before recommending the most suitable supply option. Where a fixed readymix delivery is appropriate, we can arrange it. Where quantities are uncertain or multiple pours are planned, volumetric or on-site mixing may offer greater flexibility. For flooring projects, we can also advise on an appropriate screed solution.
That project-led approach helps customers make informed decisions rather than choosing from a list without understanding how each mix will perform. Whether you already have a specification or need help identifying the right starting point, Easy Concrete Services provides practical guidance backed by experience supplying domestic and commercial projects across London and the South East.

01 Readymix concrete
Readymix concrete is produced before delivery and arrives at the project ready to place. It is often the preferred option where quantities have been calculated in advance and a continuous, scheduled pour is required.
-
02 Volumetric concrete
Volumetric concrete is produced from materials carried separately within a specialist mixing vehicle. The required volume is mixed at the point of delivery, allowing quantities to be adjusted as the work progresses.
-
03 On-site mixed concrete
On-site mixed concrete is prepared directly at the project immediately before it is discharged. This provides greater control over freshness, consistency and the quantity produced during the pour.
-
04 Screed
Screed creates a smooth, level surface over a concrete base before the final floor finish is installed. The correct screed type and depth depend on the floor build-up, loading requirements and whether underfloor heating is being used.
